Privatisaion & Market Liberalisation
Following global capitalist trends of providing energy retail choices to residents and business owners, the current government of Singapore is encouraging liberalization of the energy market. Tanveen recognized the threat it will bring to the self-sustenance of our people. Excessive market liberalization allows business conglomerates to set price patterns that may not help consumers enjoy cost savings.

As Prime Minister, Tanveen will:

-
Reinstate strict market regulations to ensure that our people have access to good quality utilities at reasonable prices and at the same time encouraging competition in the market.
-
Market regulations include a bi-annual review of electricity retailer’s pricing plans and structures to make certain that it safeguard citizens from unreasonable pricing.
